Where’s My Header?

For some reason MS Word 2003 likes to make my headers disappear. To make them reappear, I’ve been selecting View > Header / Footer. Saving the document template after making this change does not retain the changes. Finally, I found the solution here. It instructs you to click Tools > Options and select the View tab. Put a check mark in “White space between pages (Print view only).”

After you make the change, save your Document Template.

What about the Gnostics?

Do you ever feel like people are just too gullible? It always surprises me to hear good people — even Christians — being gullible concerning religious matters. For example, good people have asked me questions like:

  • Pastor, do you think The Da Vinci Code is true?
  • Pastor, do you think Jesus married Mary Magdalene?
  • Pastor, what about these other gospels?

I guess I shouldn’t think of people as being gullible. It’s more a matter of not being informed as to what the Bible says and what it does not say. And it’s a matter of not understanding early church history.

This sermon addresses these kinds of questions.

While there is a good deal of Bible text in the sermon, the key verse is 2 Peter 1:16 (NIV) We did not follow cleverly invented stories when we told you about the power and coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, but we were eyewitnesses of his majesty.

An Easter Sermon – Are You Still in the Tomb?

As a pastor, I see many people who are unhappy: some who I interact with in my hometown; some who visit my church; some who regularly attend my church. Just go read some random posts on social networking sites and you can see it. Many people are desperately unhappy.

Most often their unhappiness is linked to the darkness they expose themselves to. It grieves me how many people seem to either live in darkness or play with it.

The Bible teaches that Jesus is the Light of the World. It teaches that he can bring light to your life. If you’re wondering how that can happen, check out this sermon.
