SOLVED: How to Subscribe to iTunes Podcast with an Android App

October 31st, 2018 by steve shields

I want to subscribe to a podcast, but I can’t find it when I search for it by name with my Android app.

And I can’t find the RSS link.

Sound familiar?

How do you subscribe to an iTunes podcast with PocketCasts?

How do you subscribe to an iTunes podcast with Google Play Music?

You need the RSS link.

But many podcast sites, without intending to do so, hide the RSS link for an iTunes podcast.

Fortunately, there’s a solution.

It’s at this web site:
http://getrssfeed.com/

Here’s how to use it:

  1. Go to the iTunes site or SoundCloud site for your podcast and copy the url from your browser.(at the top of the screen).
  2. Paste that url into the field at getrssfeed.com and the service will retrieve the public RSS feed of the podcast.
  3. Paste that information into the search field of PocketCasts or whatever podcast catcher you use on your Android.

Where do you enter the code to claim a place on Facebook?

Where do you enter the code to claim a page on Facebook?

If you’re sitting at a desktop or laptop, you’ll look a long time.

But if you go through the procedure of claiming a Facebook Page using your mobile device — problem solved.

You’ll see the place to enter the code to claim your Facebook page.

Once entered, Facebook says it can take up to two days. I’ve had it take a week and I’ve had it take five minutes.

Good luck. You may need it. 😉

How to Add a Podcast to Pocketcasts – SOLVED

October 27th, 2017 by steve

I’ve been a long-time user of ShiftyJelly’s Pocket Casts app on Android.

When a brand new podcast comes out, it’s sometimes just unavailable. Even when you have the RSS feed, the Pocket Casts app can’t find it.

Here’s how to submit the RSS feed link for the podcast to Pocket Casts.

  1. Go to this link.
    http://pocketcasts.com/submit
  2. Enter your RSS link, like…
    http://shieldsgroup.com/feed/
  3. Click Submit.
  4. Wait five minutes.

Then enter the same RSS link into Pocket Casts podcast search bar, and the podcast should show up.
