Have you ever wondered why you don\u2019t see God\u2019s power<\/strong> the way others see it? You may wonder that if you\u2019ve heard some of the stories I have heard. I remember when a missionary named Marge came to my church and told the story of an Indian in Columbia that didn\u2019t believe in Jesus. He was actually highly resistant to the work of the missionaries. He died and at his funeral, he sat up and said, \u201cGod sent me back to tell you Jesus is REAL!\u201d<\/p>\n

Do we see that? Why not?<\/p>\n

What about the concept of the demons fleeing<\/strong>. A missionary once told me a story of a pastor in Africa who had been chased by dogs. Eventually it was revealed that the local shaman \u2013 or witch doctor \u2013 had done this through black magic. The church prayed about it and the shaman disappeared.<\/p>\n

Do we see that kind of thing in our lives? Why not?<\/p>\n

I have heard some say that<\/strong> \u201cThe Bible is complete, so there is no more need for signs like this to occur.\u201d Have you heard that? Miracles don\u2019t occur now because we have the Bible instead. I don\u2019t think that\u2019s the case. I think that\u2019s an attempt to rationalize.<\/p>\n

Others say that \u201cWe ought not ask God to do extravagant things \u2013 just be glad for what you have.\u201d That just seems cold.<\/p>\n

Still others say, \u201cWe don\u2019t have enough faith.\u201d That\u2019s probably closer to the truth, but doesn\u2019t it seem a little simplistic?<\/p>\n

The closing verses of Matthew 13 speak about Jesus not doing miracles<\/em> in a certain time and place. I believe he didn\u2019t do the miracles there because the people were in a self-imposed bondage.<\/p>\n
