{"id":3018,"date":"2020-04-04T07:33:00","date_gmt":"2020-04-04T11:33:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/shieldsgroup.com\/?p=3018"},"modified":"2020-04-03T17:23:29","modified_gmt":"2020-04-03T21:23:29","slug":"spending-the-day-with-others","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.shieldsgroup.com\/blog\/2020\/04\/04\/spending-the-day-with-others\/","title":{"rendered":"Spending the Day with Others"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>In his book,&nbsp;<em>Life Together<\/em>,&nbsp;<\/strong>Dietrich Bonhoeffer has a rather lengthy chapter titled,&nbsp;<em>The Day with Others.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As he unfolds his thinking, it\u2019s evident that he is teaching his readers how to be the Church \u2013 in whatever environment find themselves.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>When I say,&nbsp;<em>\u201chow to be the church,\u201d<\/em>&nbsp;I am referring to experiencing God\u2019s presence together \u2014 as friends, as a family, as a couple. It\u2019s what we do Sundays, on Susquehanna Avenue, when we can.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Bonhoeffer is pretty straight forward in this area.
