Pittsburgh — where we don’t boo the gold medal hero

So I found this picture online. It says:

WELCOME TO PITTSBURGH WHERE WE DO NOT BOO YOUR GOLD MEDAL HERO!

Unless you’ve been watching Twilight while the rest of the world has been watching hockey, you know what this means. But on the outside chance you’re not an NHL lover, here’s the scoop.

Pittsburgh Penguins captain, Sidney Crosby, a Canadian, scored the winning goal for Team Canada in the final game of the 2010 Vancouver Winter Olympics against Team USA. Oh Canada! How they cheered their hero.

But if you’ve been watching the Penguins in the National Hockey League Playoffs when they have played Ottawa and Montreal, you know that every time Sidney touches the puck, the Canadians boo and boo.

Oh! Canada! Bad form!

GO PENGUINS!

Pittsburgh City of Champions Wallpaper

The Pittsburgh Steelers and the Penguins have done the Steel City proud, winning the Superbowl and the Stanley Cup in the same year.

That makes Pittsburgh Sixburg, when it comes to Lombardi trophies. And three rings around the Stanley Cup for the Penguins is something to crow about.

This Steeler / Penguins Wallpaper has been floating around in email for a while. Don’t you love the image with the Three Rivers and the Golden Triangle? It has a great glow.

I thought I’d post it here.

Love ‘da Burgh. It’s once more The City of Champions.

Note: a few people have asked where they can order this wallpaper. It’s not wallpaper for your house; it’s desktop PC wallpaper for your computer. You just click the image for the larger rendering and then you right-click the larger image and set as wallpaper/background.

It’s a GREAT DAY for Hockey…

Alright — the Pittsburgh Penguins need to get it together tonight in the Melon Arena. In the last two games, they’ve not been able to stop Alex and apart from Sidney Crosby, they have been pathetic on offense.  Crosby has been outstanding, but Evgeni Malkin has been stifled to the point that my daughter, who sings his praises as though she’s in love with him, has been yelling at him like he’s some kind of rented mule.

So, to bring the game level up, I’m posting the long version of Great Day for Pittsburgh. Watch it and enjoy.

It’s a great day to be a Pittsburgh Penguins fan!  GO PENS!
